Electric Planes Page 1
Cap-232 ARF / Simprop
AT-6 Hobby Lobby
| I bough this plane with the intention to fly a bit more electric planes on days with little wind in parks around where I live. The plane flies nicely with power, however, without it, is pretty scary to fly - which is because of it’s weight to wing area. Unfortunately this AT-6 uses a lot of runway which renders it inadequate for small parks. On the positive side, the planes looks very good and flies quite realistic for a small electric plane; spins are nice and the entry is rather abrupt. The plane currently decorates the ceiling of my office. | |||||||||||||||||||||||

Ultimate 3D / Horizon Hobby
| Bought second hand from George, I very soon fell in love with that foamie. Unfortunately I parked the Ultimate in a high tree (it is still there). However, a new one is already on the bench and awaits being completed. | |||||||||||||||||||||

Electro Streak / Great Planes
| Another great flying plane that met its fate when it collided with a tree. I could have sworn that the tree moved! – Well maybe it is just my depth perception. Before finding it’s timely end the plane flew exceptionally well – I never had a plane that needed absolutely no trim on its first flight. The plane is very fast and agile and moves like on rails. | |||||||||||||||||||||||

Ultimate 3D / Horizon Hobby
| Well, I really liked that Ultimate (the one that is still in a tree at Smiley Elementary School), so I got me another one and committed myself NOT to fly anywhere close to trees. I used the new Futaba 3108 servos and am so far very please with them. Comparing the Futabe 3108 with Hitec HS-55 and GWS Pico F BB's they were the fastest and the most precise (I was quite disappointed from the GWS). | |||||||||||||||||||||

Yak-54F / Horizon Hobby
| The Yak went togetehr easily and the battery was enough weight to ballance it out. Rudder and elevator are accentuated with very thin metal wires, allowing for a little play. The one bigger modification I did was adding a second aileron servo (2 instead of 1) and gluing them on the wing. Despite this and the relative heavy battery the Yak is within the weight limit. I used the same servos as for the Ultimate (Futaba 3108). Flying: Awesome! It flies very true and has quite a big useful envelope. | |||||||||||||||||||||||
